The 1973 Honda US90

The Honda US 90 was the first ATV ever made. Some will argue that the Argo style 6 wheeled amphibious vehicles of the mid to late 1960s were the first, but I do not consider those to be an ATV by today's standards. 1969 marked the first year for the US90. In 1973 the name was trade marked "ATC" - All Terrain Cycle - thus the Honda ATC lineup from there on out. 1973 was also the first year for a head light and tail light to come stock on the US / ATC 90. Prior to this date - lighting was an add-on feature. The first US/ATC 90s had fiberglass rear fenders, a metal front fender and those ultra cool, impossible to aquire, wheel-less tires.

This particular 3 wheeler is in running order and will start right up and ride. Although we only get it out for special occasions, it does get ridden around the yard a few times per year. We will be keeping this in it's original un-restored state mainly because it is not that bad off and is nearly 100% complete - only missing it's fender trim. To restore it perfectly would cost a fortune, and I would rather have it the way it is - ORIGINAL - than to be not restored to OEM specs.

US 90s came in a variety of colors. In 1970 colors offered were Summer Yellow (which is almost orange), Aquarius Blue, Parrot Green, and Bright Red. Later year models had different colors as well. My US 90 is Mighty Green.
